Our addiction and emotional journey have been an eventful one, to say the least. Through the trials of our lives, we wish to reach out to others who have also experienced addictions and emotional struggles. Each of us has our own story; however, we each have our collective stories of how we managed to get through the most challenging times as a family. We are on a continuous journey of complete healing and restoration. We are a good family, just like many others who face these issues. The LOVE we have for each other is unstoppable!
We wish to make a “whole-istic” solution available to you that you may not have experienced in a traditional setting. We can personally relate to the challenges in these areas. We’ve experienced a lot… near-death experiences, overdoses, trips unauthorized by our natural minds, teen pregnancy, abortion, nervous breakdowns, loss of everything, brokenness, and the list goes on… Although we have had these experiences, we have discovered the beauty in the brokenness of our lives, and we realize that through these experiences, we found God’s love, mercy, and grace like we could never have in any other way. We hope you will reach out to us, so we can help guide you on your journey to wholeness and complete restoration.

One of our favorite stories is that of the starfish. This story is the best representation of the mission and vision of Turning Tides. If we can help just ONE person to a life free of addiction, emotional struggles, and physical ailments, then our pain in this struggle will have been worth it.
Making a Difference: The Starfish Story
“One day, a man was walking along the seashore. He noticed a human figure moving like a dancer, bending then wading into the waves, arms extended. It pleases him that someone would dance to the beauty of the day and the rhythm of the waves. As he got closer, he saw that it was a young girl. The girl wasn’t dancing; instead, she was reaching down to the sand, picking up starfish, and tossing them into the surf. The old man paused momentarily, puzzled, then asked, “Why are you throwing starfish into the ocean? The sun is up, and the tide is going out.” She replied, “If I don’t throw them in, they’ll be stranded on the beach and die.” “But don’t you realize that there are thousands of miles of beach and starfish all along the way? You can’t possibly make a difference!” The young girl stopped. Her face darkened. she chewed her lower lip, “You’re probably right,” she said softly. She looked down at the sand. Then she leaned over, carefully picked up another starfish, pulled back, and arched it gently into the sea. She watched a wave lift it high and sank into the life-giving water. With a tone of gentle defiance, she said, ‘But I made a difference for that one.'” ~ Author Unknown
